Vacuum Pump: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the engine appearance cover.

  3. Remove the nut, the bolt and the turbocharger heat shield.

  4. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
    • Disconnect the vacuum control regulator electrical connector.

    • Disconnect the coupling.

    • Disconnect the vacuum control regulator and position aside the vacuum harness.

    • Remove the nut.

    • NOTE: The bolts can only be removed with the vacuum pump.

      Remove the bolts and the vacuum pump.

  5. Remove and discard the vacuum pump gasket.

  6. Clean and prepare the RTV sealing surface. Refer to: RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation .
