Vacuum Pump: Installation

- Install the vacuum pump gasket.

NOTE: If the vacuum pump is not installed and the fasteners tightened within 10 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned.
Apply an 6 mm bead of the specified sealant in the location shown.
Material
: Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)
- Align the vacuum pump drive key with the camshaft slot before installation.
- Install the vacuum pump and the retainers.
Torque: Stage 1: Tighten bolt number 1 to: : 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
Stage 2: Tighten bolt number 2 to: : 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
Stage 3: Tighten bolt number 1 a second time to: : 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
Stage 4: Tighten the nut number 3 to: : 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

- Position back the vacuum harness and connect the vacuum control regulator.
- Connect the coupling.
- Connect the vacuum control regulator electrical connector.
- Install the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
- Install the turbocharger heat shield, the nut and the bolt.
Torque: Nut : 53 lb.in (6 Nm) Bolt : 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
- Install the engine appearance cover.
