Port Injection Fuel Rail RH: Removal

- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
- Disconnect the fuel rail harness main electrical connector.
- Disconnect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

- If equipped, remove the engine rear undershield. Refer to: Engine Rear Undershield .
- Remove the bolt, then detach the harness retainer.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Remove the retainers, then remove the high-pressure fuel pump shield.

NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.
Remove the fuel injection pump noise insulator.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers. Disconnect the fuel supply quick connect couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

- Remove the retainers, then remove and the fuel supply manifold.
- Detach the wire harness retainers.

NOTE: Pull out the fuel rails in the direction of the fuel injector axis or damage may occur to the fuel injectors.
- Use compressed air to remove any dirt or foreign material from the cylinder head, block and general surrounding area of the fuel rail and the fuel injectors.
- Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts, then remove the fuel rail.
- Should any of the fuel injectors remain in the head, then the fuel injector electrical connectors will need to be disconnected as the fuel rail is being removed.
- Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

- Remove the fuel injector retaining clips.
- Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.
- Remove and discard all of the fuel injector O-ring seals.
