Port Injection Fuel Rail RH: Installation

- The fuel injector clip can be reused if it is not damaged during removal. If the clip is reused, the 2 sides of the clip should be squeezed back into shape by placing it between index finger and thumb.

NOTE: Make sure that new fuel injector O-ring seals are installed.
Install the all of the new fuel injector O-ring seals and the fuel injector retaining clips onto the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .
- Install the fuel injectors into the fuel rail.
- Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

NOTE: Ensure that the wiring harness is not damaged during the fuel rail installation.
Install the fuel rail, push down on the fuel rail above the injectors, then install and tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts in the following 2 stages and in the sequence shown in illustration.
Torque
:Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: Tighten an additional : 45°
- Attach the wire harness retainers.
- Install the fuel supply manifold, then install and tighten the retainers.
Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Connect the fuel supply quick connect couplings. Attach the wire harness retainers. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.
Install the fuel injection pump noise insulator.
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump shield, then install and tighten the retainers.
Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.
- If equipped, install the engine rear undershield. Refer to: Engine Rear Undershield .
- Attach the harness retainer, then install and tighten the bolt.
Torque
: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Connect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling
.
- Connect the fuel rail harness main electrical connector.
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
- Reconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Pressurize the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
