High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket as needed.
- Apply 8 mm dots of sealant to the camshaft bearing cap and cylinder head seam as shown in illustration.
Material
: Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts in the following 2 stages.
Torque
:Stage 1: Tighten to : 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
Stage 2: Tighten an additional : 45°
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
