Thermostatic Expansion Valve Manifold and Tube Assembly - 3.5L V6 PowerBoost (CN): Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in the appropriate Climate Control System article.
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  3. Remove the inveter system controller. Refer to: Inverter System Controller [SOBDMC] .
    1. Remove the ground wire retainer.

      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

    2. Remove the bracket retainers, and remove the inverter system controller mounting bracket.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  4. Remove the A/C compressor inlet line nut and position aside.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  5. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
  6. Remove the A/C compressor outlet line nut and disconnect the fitting.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  7. Remove the condenser outlet line nut and disconnect the fitting.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  8. Disconnect the A/C pressure transducer and the evaporator shut off valve.

  9. Remove the support bracket retainer, and position aside the A/C compressor outlet line.

  10. Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold tube assembly bracket retainer.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  11. Remove the RHF fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  12. Remove the nut and position the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly aside.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  13. Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly nut, disconnect the fitting and remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
