Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Control Module: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the HVAC control module following the on-screen instructions.
Vehicles with floor console
- Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console

All vehicles
- Release the clips and remove the center finish trim.
- Disconnect the electrical connector. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
Vehicles without floor console
- Release the clips and remove the LH center trim panel.
- Release the clips and remove the RH center trim panel.
- Rewmove the bolts and the lower center instrument panel trim panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
Vehicles without floor console
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Rewmove the bolts and the lower center instrument panel trim panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
All vehicles
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts and the HVAC module.
