Removal And Installation: Condenser: Removal

NOTE: During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in the appropriate Climate Control System article.
  2. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
  3. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to the appropriate procedure in the appropriate Engine System article.
  4. Remove RH and LH radiator side air deflector pin-type retainers and the radiator side air deflectors.

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

    1. Remove the condenser inlet and outlet nuts and disconnect the fittings.

      Torque: 1: 71 lb.in (8 Nm) 2: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  5. Remove the radiator retainers and tilt the cooling module backward.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  6. Remove the condenser retainers.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  7. Release the tab and position the condenser upward.

  8. Remove the condenser.
