DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition HCM U3003:17 Battery Voltage: Circuit Voltage Above Threshold A continuous memory and on-demand DTC that sets in the HCM if the HCM detects high battery voltage on the voltage supply input. Possible Sources
- Charging system concern
- HCM
- S1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) P0563 (PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE)), U3003:17 OR U3006:17 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs) from all modules.
Is DTC U3003:17, U3006:17 or P0563 (PCM) set in more than one module?
Yes Diagnose the PCMDTC. For 2.7L EcoBoost, REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls . For 3.3L Duratec-V6, REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls . - Turn the engine off.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test.
- Clear the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
- Carry out the HCM self-test.
Is DTC U3003:17 still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new HCM. REFER to: Headlamp Control Module (HCM) . No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle.
