Steering Column Shrouds: Removal

  1. Fully extend and lower the steering column.

  2. Release the tabs and disconnect the gap hider from the upper steering column shroud.

    Vehicles with column shift 

  3. NOTE: Gear selector lever removed for clarity.

    Release the tabs and position the gear selector boot aside.

    All vehicles 

  4. Release the retainers

    1. Rotate the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left.
    2. Release the LH retainer.

      Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver

    3. Rotate the steering wheel 180 degrees to the right.
    4. Release the RH retainer.

  5. NOTE: Gap hider removed for clarity.

    Release the outer clips on both sides and remove the upper steering column shroud.

  6. Remove the lower instrument panel trim panel.

    1. Release the clips and the tabs and position the lower instrument panel trim panel downward.

    2. Remove the lower instrument panel trim panel bolts.

  7. Release the clips and remove the instrument panel upper trim panel.

  8. NOTE: Steering column opening trim panel removed for clarity.

    Remove the bolts and the lower steering column shroud.
