C-Pillar Trim Panel: Removal

NOTE: LH (left hand) side shown in illustration, RH (right hand) side similar.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE: Seats removed for clarity.
  1. Remove the rear scuff plate trim panel. Refer to: Rear Scuff Plate Trim Panel .
  2. Remove the rear seatbelt retractor and pretensioner anchor bolt.

    Torque

    : 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    Left hand side 

  3. NOTE: The seat backrest latch is only accessible when the seat cushion is raised.
    NOTE: During installation the striker should be in its lowest position for the latch to engage.

    Fold the LH rear seat backrest down.

    1. Raise the seat cushion.
    2. Release the backrest latch.
    3. Fold the backrest down.

    Right hand side 

  4. Pull the backrest release strap and fold forward the RH seat backrest down.

    All vehicles 

  5. Release the C-pillar trim panel clips.

  6. Remove the C-pillar trim panel.

    1. Release the C-pillar trim panel clip from the tether clip.
    2. Rotate the tether clip line to align the end with the opening.
    3. Slide the tether clip end out of the C-pillar trim panel.
    4. Feed the rear seatbelt retractor and pretensioner through the opening in the C-pillar trim panel.
