Pro Trailer Backup Assist Control Knob: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. NOTE: 12 inch screen is shown in illustration, 10 inch screen is similar.

    Release the clips and remove the upper centerstack bezel. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

    • Release the clips and remove the RH instrument center trim panel. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

    • On vehicles equipped with push button start disconnect the electrical connector.

  2. Release the clips and remove the LH instrument center trim panel. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  3. Release the clips and remove the lower steering column closeout panel. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  4. Fully extend and lower the steering column.

  5. Release the tabs and disconnect the gap hider from the upper steering column shroud. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  6. Remove the screws.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  7. Release the clips and remove the instrument cluster panel bezel.

    Vehicles equipped with a floor console 

  8. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .
  9. Remove the lower centerstack trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles without a floor console 

  10. Remove the pin-type retainers and the RH lower instrument panel closeout trim panel.

  11. Remove the bolt.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  12. Release the clips and remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.

  13. Release the clips and remove the LH lower centerstack trim panel.

  14. Release the clips and remove the RH lower centerstack trim panel.

  15. Remove the lower centerstack trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles equipped with an instrument panel center speaker 

  16. Remove the instrument panel center speaker. Refer to: Instrument Panel Center Speaker .
  17. Remove the screws, release the clips and remove the instrument panel center speaker mounting plate. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

    Vehicles not equipped with an instrument panel center speaker 

  18. Remove the upper instrument panel tray liner.

  19. Remove the screws, release the clips and remove the upper instrument panel tray.

    Vehicles equipped with a 10 inch screen 

  20. Remove the bolts.

    Torque

    : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  21. Remove the bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the centerstack trim panel.

    Torque

    : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  22. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  23. Release the tabs and remove the Pro Trailer Back Up Assist ™ control knob. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

    Vehicles equipped with a 12 inch screen 

  24. Remove the bolts.

    Torque

    : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  25. Remove the bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the FDIM and centerstack trim panel as an assembly

    Torque

    : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  26. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  27. Release the tabs and remove the Pro Trailer Back Up Assist ™ control knob. Remove the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
