DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P161A:00 Incorrect Response from Immobilizer Control Module: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects a fault when there is no BCM ID is not stored in the PCM. SOBDMC P161A:00 Incorrect Response from Immobilizer Control Module: No Sub Type Information Sets when the BCM ID received by the SOBDMC does not match the ID stored in the SOBDMC memory. PCM P161B:00 Incorrect Response from Secondary Immobilizer Module: No Sub Type Information Sets when the ABS ID received by the PCM does not match the ID stored in the PCM memory Possible Sources
- The BCM ID received by the PCM and the SOBDMC (if equipped) does not match the ID stored in PCM and/or SOBDMC (if equipped) memory.
- The ABS ID recieved by the PCM does not match the ID stored in the PCM memory.
- K1 CHECK PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM and SOBDMC (if equipped) self-test.

Yes DIAGNOSE all other DTC's first. Refer to DTC Chart(s) . No CARRY OUT a parameter reset. REFER to: Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - System Operation and Component Description .
