Turbocharger Bypass Valve: Removal

NOTE: Whenever turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover open ports to protect from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All components should be inspected and cleaned, if necessary, prior to installation or reassembly.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. If equipped, remove the bolts and the plate from the front underbody skid plate.

    Torque

    : 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

  3. If equipped, remove the bolts and the front underbody skid plate.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  4. Disconnect the CAC to throttle body inlet pipe. Disconnect the quick connect coupling at the turbocharger bypass valve. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .

  5. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the retaners and the turbocharger bypass valve.

    Torque

    : 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
