Pinpoint Test V: Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P0341:00 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 or single sensor): No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects CMP11 signal is inactive while the CKP signal indicates the engine is rotating. This DTC also sets when the electrical noise exceeds the calibrated threshold. The PCM monitors the CMP 11 sensor and CKP sensor signals during engine cranking. The PCM also monitors the CMP11 sensor signal for electrical noise.
Monitor the CMP_F PID while cranking the engine.
PCM P0342:00 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Low (Bank 1 or single sensor): No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open or a short to ground from the CMP11 circuit.
PCM P0343:00 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit High (Bank 1 or single sensor): No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the CMP11 circuit signal is beyond the minimum or maximum calibrated limit.
