Pinpoint Test By: The Advanced Driver Assistance System Chime Is Inoperative - Active Park Assist/Parking Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, CTA (Cross Traffic Alert), Forward Collision, Highway Assist

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Active Park Assist or Parking Aid Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    See Adaptive Cruise Control Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    See CTA Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    See Forward Collision Warning Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    See Highway Assist (Hard-Takeover) Warning Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Adaptive cruise control concern
    • Active park assist/parking aid system concern
    • CTA concern
    • Forward collision system concern
    • Highway assist system concern
    • Communication concern
    • IPMA concern
    • GWM
    • IPC

  2. BY1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.

    • Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BY2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test A 
  3. BY2 VERIFY THE CHIMES FUNCTION THROUGH THE AUDIO SPEAKERS

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Monitor the location of the seatbelt warning chime (front/rear audio speakers or IPC) when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN.

    Does the chime sound through the audio speakers? 

    Yes  GO to  BY4
    No  GO to  BY3
  4. BY3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the IPCDTC Chart.
    No  GO to  BY4
  5. BY4 PERFORM THE IPMA (IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE A) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPMA self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the Master DTC Chart.
    No  GO to  BY5
  6. BY5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network .
    No  DIAGNOSE the system in question. For audible parking aid, REFER to: Parking Aid . For active park assist, REFER to: Parking Aid . For adaptive cruise control, forward collision and highway assist, REFER to: Cruise Control . For CTA, REFER to: Blind Spot Information System .
