Front Seat Upper Backrest Cover - Vehicles With: Max Recline Seats: Removal

NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
- Remove the front seat backrest blower motor. Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor .
With multi-contour seats

- Disconnect the front seat upper backrest heater mat electrical connector.
- Detach the front seat upper backrest heater mat wiring harness retainer.
Without multi-contour seats
-
- Disconnect the front seat upper backrest heater mat electrical connector.
- Detach the front seat upper backrest heater mat wiring harness retainers.
All seats
- Separate the front seat upper backrest and the front seat backrest blower motor vent bags.
- Release the retainers.
- Separate the front seat upper backrest and the front seat backrest blower motor vent bags.
- Pull the front seat upper backrest cover assembly out.
- Remove the front seat upper backrest cover assembly screws.
- Remove the front seat upper backrest cover assembly.
- Release the retainers and separate the front seat upper backrest cover from the front seat backrest cover.
- Remove the front seat upper backrest cover assembly.

- Release the front seat upper backrest cover hook-and-loop retainers.
- Position the front seat upper backrest cover side flaps aside.
- Position the front seat upper backrest cover aside.
- Untuck the front seat upper backrest cover retainers and remove the front seat upper backrest cover assembly support.

NOTE: This step is necessary only when installing a new component.
- Invert the front seat backrest cover.

NOTE: Use care when separating the front seat upper backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strips, or the hook-and-loop strips can be torn from the front seat upper backrest foam.
Release the hook-and-loop strip.
