Front Seat Power Lumbar Assembly - Vehicles With: Multi-Contour Seats: Removal

Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
NOTE:
The front seat backrest driver seat SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) is part of the front seat power lumbar assembly and is serviced as an assembly.
- Position the front seat to access the front seat wiring harnesses.

NOTE: This step is necessary only when installing a new component.NOTE: The PMI (programmable module installation) process must begin with the current SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) installed. If the current SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SCMG following the on-screen instructions.
- Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .

NOTE: Note routing of the multi-contour control pump hoses for installation.
Disconnect the front seat backrest driver seat SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module)/passenger seat SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) hose.
- Compress/squeeze the hose end fitting.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Detach the front seat electrical connector retainers and position the front seat wiring harnesses aside.
- Detach the front seat backrest cover straps and position the front seat backrest cover aside.
- Release the front seat backrest cover J-clip.

NOTE: To install, gradually alternate the left and right front seat backrest cover zippers to prevent damage to the front seat backrest cover.
- Unzip the front seat backrest cover.
- Lift the front seat backrest cover back flap.
- Detach the front seat backrest cover retainer from the front seat backrest frame.
- Detach the front seat backrest heater mat electrical connector and position aside.
- Disconnect the front seat backrest driver seat SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module)/passenger seat SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) module electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Remove the front seat power lumbar assembly.
- Detach the front seat backrest driver seat SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module)/passenger seat SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) hose retainer.
- Release the lower retainers.
- Release the middle J-hooks.
- Release the upper J-hooks.
