Front Head Restraint - Vehicles With: Audio System: Removal

NOTE: Driver seat shown passenger seat similar.
  1. Position the front seat to access the front seat wiring harnesses.

  2. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  3. Detach the front seat electrical connector retainers and position the front seat wiring harnesses aside.

  4. Detach the front seat backrest cover straps and position the front seat backrest cover aside.

  5. Release the front seat backrest cover J-clip.

  6. NOTE: To install, gradually alternate the left and right front seat backrest cover zippers to prevent damage to the front seat backrest cover.

    1. Unzip the front seat backrest cover.
    2. Lift the front seat backrest cover back flap.
    3. Detach the front seat backrest cover retainer from the front seat backrest frame.

    With max recline seats 

  7. Position the front seat upper backrest cover up.

  8. Release the hook-and-loop retainer and position the front seat upper backrest cover aside.

    All seats 

  9. Disconnect the front head restraint audio system electrical connectors.

  10. NOTE: Be careful when removing the front head restraint or damage to the front head restraint audio system wiring harnesses may occur.
    NOTE: The front head restraint audio system wiring harnesses feeds through the front head restraint guide sleeves.

    Remove the front head restraint.

    1. Insert a 1.27 mm (0.050 inch) hex key, push in and release the front head restraint guide sleeve internal locking spring.
    2. Depress the locking tab.
    3. Remove the front head restraint.
