Pinpoint Test C: SASM DTC C1B00:56: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The SASM is self-monitoring and capable of setting Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to alert of potential internal errors. When the Steering Wheel Angle Trim routine is carried out, the SASM stores this information and shares this information with the ABS module. The ABS module calculates a steering angle offset based on wheel speed sensor information. If the offset is too great when compared to the SASM provided steering angle, the ABS module sends a message to the SASM and the SASM sets a DTC.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition SASM C1B00:56 Steering Angle Sensor: Invalid/Incompatible Configuration This DTC sets if the ABS steering wheel angle trim offset is greater than 15 degrees. Possible Sources
- Steering angle sensors have not been trimmed
- ABS module has not been calibrated
Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the Steering Wheel Angle Trim routine and then the ABS Calibration routine.
