Hood Latch Release Cable: Removal

Vehicles with secondary battery

If equipped. Remove the secondary battery tray. REFER to: Battery Tray .
All vehicles
Remove the hood latch. REFER to: Hood Latch .
NOTE: Diesel engine shown, Gas engines similar.

Remove the radiator sight shield.
1. Remove the pin type retainer and position the air cleaner inlet duct aside.
2. Remove the pin type retainers and remove the radiator sight shield.

Remove the hood latch release handle. REFER to: Hood Latch Release Handle .
Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.
1. Release the cable routing clip.
2. Route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.
