Removal And Installation: Muffler: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the tailpipe. Refer to: Tailpipe .

NOTE: The muffler inlet pipe must be supported to prevent its free weight from damaging the exhaust heat exchanger during removal.
- Secure the muffler inlet pipe using mechanics wire.
- Remove the isolator bolt.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the isolator bolts.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

NOTE: During Installation, make sure the button is fully seated in the R-notch on the muffler inlet pipe.
Loosen the clamp. Rotate the muffler assembly and remove it from the vehicle.
