Muffler Inlet Pipe: Removal

NOTE:
Muffler inlet pipes will vary in configuration with different wheelbases and powertrains. Typical application shown in illustration.
NOTE:
The muffler inlet pipe on hybrid variants contains the hybrid engine exhaust heat exchanger.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wire clips.

NOTE: Coolant spillage from the disconnected coolant hoses must be prevented using hose clamps.
Release the coolant hoses from the heat exchanger. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Remove the muffler assembly. Refer to: Muffler .
- Remove the isolator bolts.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the muffler inlet pipe.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
