Fuel Tank Filler Pipe: Removal

WARNING:
Make sure that the fuel tank is no more than 3/4 full.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Cables - 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel .
- Refer to: Diesel Fuel System Health and Safety Precautions .
- Remove the fuel filler door assembly. Refer to: FUEL FILLER DOOR ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the bracket bolts.
Torque
: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
- Loosen the hose clamps and keep aside the hose.
Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

NOTE: This step applies only to vehicles with a 5 1/2 foot pickup bed.
Remove the pickup bed. Refer to: Pickup Bed .
