Pinpoint Test O: Water In Fuel Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.
Refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 3.0L DIESEL for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Condition |
|---|---|---|
| PCM P1140:00 | Water in Fuel Condition: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects water in the fuel, and the water in fuel indicator lamp is illuminated. The water in fuel sensor is monitored by the PCM. Drain a fuel sample from the fuel conditioning module and inspect for water or contaminants. If no water or contaminants are in the container, check for a circuit concern. |
| PCM P2264:00 | Water in Fuel Sensor "A" Circuit: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the water in fuel sensor circuit voltage falls below or exceeds a calibrated threshold. |
| PCM P2266:00 | Water in Fuel Sensor "A" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the water in fuel sensor circuit is shorted to ground. |
| PCM P2267:00 | Water in Fuel Sensor "A" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the water in fuel sensor circuit is shorted to voltage. |
| PCM P2269:00 | Water in Fuel Condition - Sensor "A": No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects water in the fuel and the water in fuel indicator lamp is illuminated. Drain a fuel sample from the fuel conditioning module and inspect for water or contaminants. If no water or contaminants are in the container, check for a circuit concern. |
