Pinpoint Test Ma: Fuel Pump Control - Low Pressure Pump

NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P0087:00 Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low (Bank 1): No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM is no longer capable of maintaining the fuel pressure. The PCM regulates the fuel rail pressure by controlling the fuel volume control valve and fuel pressure control valve. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the ICP message center.
This DTC sets when the fuel rail pressure exceeds the minimum calibrated threshold.
PCM P008A:00 Low Pressure Fuel System Pressure - Too Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the low pressure fuel system pressure is less than 365 kPa (53 psi) for 60 seconds.The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the ICP message center.
Verify the fuel level, grade and quality is sufficient to support normal operation of the engine.
PCM P0230:00 Fuel Pump Primary Circuit: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the FPC circuit voltage is less than or greater than a calibrated limit, for a calibrated amount of time.
With the fuel pump commanded on, the PCM can detect an open, a short to ground or a short to voltage from the FPC circuit.
PCM P0231:00 Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM does not detect a duty cycled signal on the FPM circuit after a calibrated amount of time.
If the FPM circuit is fixed at a low voltage, the PCM begins to increment a counter.
PCM P0232:00 Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM does not detect a duty cycled signal on the FPM circuit after a calibrated amount of time.
If the FPM circuit is fixed at a high voltage, the PCM begins to increment a counter.
PCM P025A:00 Fuel Pump Module "A" Control Circuit/Open: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open, short to voltage or ground from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P025C:00 Fuel Pump Module "A" Control Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P025D:00 Fuel Pump Module "A" Control Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open or short to voltage from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P027A:00 Fuel Pump Module "B" Control Circuit/Open: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open, short to voltage or ground from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P027C:00 Fuel Pump Module "B" Control Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P027D:00 Fuel Pump Module "B" Control Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open or short to voltage from the FPC circuit.
When the PCM commands the fuel pump on, the PCM can detect a short to voltage from the FPC circuit. When the PCM commands the fuel pump off, the PCM can detect an open circuit or a short to ground from the FPC circuit.
PCM P0627:00 Fuel Pump "A" Control Circuit/Open: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM commands the FPC off and the circuit voltage is lower than an expected threshold, when the PCM expects to detect B+ voltage coming through the fuel pump relay coil to the FPC circuit
PCM P0628:00 Fuel Pump "A" Control Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM commands the fuel pump command off and the circuit voltage is lower than an expected threshold, when the PCM expects to detect B+ voltage coming through the fuel pump relay coil to the FPC circuit
PCM P0629:00 Fuel Pump "A" Control Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects excessive current draw from the FPC circuit when the FPC output is commanded on.
PCM P062A:00 Fuel Pump "A" Control Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the FPM circuit is energized with the airbags deployed, or if the FRP request and fuel pump monitor feedback do not correlate. For DTC P062A, clear the PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Repeat the self-test. If the DTC is retrieved again, install a new fuel pump control module. Refer to FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE (FPDM) .

PCM P166A:00 Restraints Deployment Communication Circuit: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open or short from the IES circuit.
PCM P1671:00 Secondary Fuel Pump Relay: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects an open or short from the FP circuit between the PCM and fuel pump relay.
PCM U0109:00 Lost Communication With Fuel Pump Control Module "A": No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM does not detect a duty cycled signal on the FPM circuit after a calibrated amount of time.
The PCM monitors the FPM circuit for the presence of a duty cycled signal. If the FPM circuit is fixed at a low or high voltage, the PCM begins to increment a counter.
