Fuel Lines: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Cables - 3.3L Duratec-V6 .

NOTE: Some residual fuel may remain in the fuel lines after releasing the fuel system pressure. When disconnecting or removing any fuel lines, carefully drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.
Disconnect the fuel supply line quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Remove the bolts and the splash shield.
Torque
: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Separate the fuel supply line from the bracket on the upper transmission bell housing.
- Release the retainer clip on the rear of the transmission and position aside the fuel supply line.

- If equipped 141 inch wheel base Disconnect the front fuel supply line quick connect coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .
- Release the retainer clips.
- Remove the fuel supply line from the underside of the vehicle.

- If equipped 145 inch wheel base Disconnect the front fuel supply line-to-fuel tank fuel supply tube quick connect coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .
- Release the retainer clips.
- Remove the fuel supply line from the bottom of the vehicle.
