Pinpoint Test R: Click Noise With Or Without Steering Wheel Movement During Vehicle Startup Or Shutdown

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The SECM is equipped with a locking device which locks the adaptive steering system in the case of a system error. The SECM performs self-tests on the various systems (lock, motor, etc.) during vehicle start up and shutdown. During these self-tests, the system may produce noticeable noises and movements. These noises and movements are a normal operating condition and NO ACTION IS NECESSARY.
