Driveshaft Center Bearing: Disassembly

Center bearings with a slip yoke
- Remove the slip yoke. Refer to: Driveshaft Slip Yoke .
Center bearings with a U-joint flange
- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
- Separate the driveshaft center bearing flange and slip yoke.
- Index mark the center bearing flange and driveshaft slip yoke.
- Remove and discard the U-joint strap bolts and straps
- Separate the slip yoke from the center bearing flange.
- Remove the center bearing U-joint flange nut.
Torque: 425 lb.ft (576 Nm)
- Remove the center bearing U-joint flange and washer.
All vehicles
- Remove the center bearing.
Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
- Clean the center bearing mating surface.
