DTC P263D - Reductant Heater Driver Performance

DTC DESCRIPTION P263D - REDUCTANT HEATER DRIVER PERFORMANCE

Description:  This DTC sets when the glow plug control module (GPCM) indicates an internal software error has occurred.
Possible Causes: 
  • An attempt was made to change the calibration
  • Aftermarket performance products
  • GPCM programming error
  • Internal GPCM error
Diagnostic Aids:  Disconnect all GPCM connectors and inspect for damage such as pushed out pins or corrosion and repair as necessary. Connect all GPCM connectors.
Clear the DTCs. Carry out the key ON, engine running (KOER) Glow Plug Monitor self-test. If the DTC is retrieved again, turn the ignition OFF and wait for 2 minutes.
Reprogram the GPCM or update the GPCM calibration.
Clear the DTCs. Carry out the KOER Glow Plug Monitor self-test. If the DTC is retrieved again, install a new GPCM. Refer to the Glow Plug System article.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
