DTC P2560 - Engine Coolant Level Low

DTC DESCRIPTION P2560 - ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL LOW

Description:  This DTC sets when the value from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is not within the PCM predicted engine coolant temperature range, based on other PCM inputs.
Possible Causes: 
  • Low engine coolant level
  • Damaged ECT sensor
  • Damaged ECT sensor harness
  • Damaged engine oil temperature (EOT) sensor
  • Damaged EOT sensor harness
  • Damaged or restricted engine oil cooler
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
Check the engine cooling system for a low coolant condition or other cooling system concern. Refer to the Engine Cooling article, Diagnosis and Testing to continue diagnosis.
