DTC P242E - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent/Erratic (Bank Sensor 3)

DTC DESCRIPTION P242E - EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT/ERRATIC (BANK SENSOR 3)

Description:  This DTC sets when an intermittent concern is detected in the EGT13 circuit.
Possible Causes: 
  • EGT13 circuit intermittent open
  • EGT13 circuit intermittent short to ground
  • EGT13 circuit intermittent short to voltage
  • Incorrect connections
  • Damaged exhaust gas temperature bank 1, sensor 3 (EGT13) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Harness routing, harness alterations, or incorrect shielding may have an intermittent impact on the EGT13 circuit.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All GO to PINPOINT TEST RC .
