DTC P2201 - NOX Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

DTC DESCRIPTION P2201 - NOX SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE (BANK 1 SENSOR 1)

Description:  This DTC sets when the actual nitrogen oxides bank 1, sensor 1 (NOx11) sensor signal is less than the expected value for a calibrated amount of time.
Possible Causes: 
  • Restricted air filter
  • Intake air system leak
  • Intake manifold leak
  • Crankcase ventilation system leak
  • EGR valve stuck open
  • Low secondary cooling system coolant level
  • Exhaust system leak
  • Corrosion
  • Incorrect connections
  • Contaminated mass airflow (MAF) sensor
  • Contaminated NOx11 sensor
  • Damaged MAF sensor
  • Damaged fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor
  • Damaged NOx11 sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Check for all other DTCs. Diagnose all other DTCs first.
The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center.
