Pinpoint Tests Purpose

To verify DTC U2100 is present in the PSCM and to provide diagnostics if DTC U2100 is currently present and active in the PSCM.

  1. BQ1: CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY 
    • Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the:
      • PSCM
      • Steering gear
      • Steering column
      • Electronic steering actuator
    • Have there been any recent service actions related to the components listed above? 
      Yes No
      REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. Go to  BQ2.
  2. BQ2: VERIFY PSCM CONFIGURATION 
    • Ignition ON, engine OFF.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, configure the PSCM. Refer to the Module Configuration article.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
    • Ignition ON, engine running.

    Carry out the PSCM self-test.

    • Is DTC U2100:XX present and active in the PSCM? 
      Yes No
      Using a diagnostic scan tool, CONFIGURE the PSCM. REFER to the Module Configuration article.
      DO NOT install a new EPAS assembly. DTC U2100 is present in new EPAS assemblies until the PSCM is correctly programmed and configured. DOWNLOAD the latest PMI/IDS scan tool program to make sure the latest PMI software is being used.
      The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time.
