Differential Carrier - Vehicles With: Electronic Locking Differential (ELD): Disassembly

- Remove the differential carrier. Refer to: Differential Carrier .
- Remove and discard the differential carrier bearings. Use Special Service Tool: 205-430 Collets, Differential Carrier Bearing., 205-431 Retaining Ring, Differential Carrier Bearing., 205-432 Step Plate, Differential Carrier Bearing., 308-052 (T77J-7025-B) Remover/Installer, Bearing Tube., 308-092 (T84T-7025-B) Removal Screw, Bearing Tube.
- Remove and discard the ELD coil retaining ring.
- Remove the ELD coil retaining ring washer.
- Remove the ELD coil.
- Remove the ELD coil thrust bearing.
- Remove the ELD coil thrust plate.
- Remove and discard the ring gear bolts.
- Using the general equipment, remove the ring gear. Use the General Equipment: Punch Use the General Equipment: Copper Hammer
- Using the special tool, mount the differential carrier on a vise. Use Special Service Tool: 205-447 Preload Gauge, Differential Clutch. Use the General Equipment: Vise
- Remove the differential carrier case bolts.
- Separate the carrier case.
- Index mark the carrier case halves.
- Separate the carrier case halves
- Remove the RH side gear and side gear shim.
- Remove the differential pinion shaft, pinion gears and pinion gear washers.
- Remove the LH side gear.
- Remove the LH side gear shim.
- Remove the ELD cam ring retaining circlip.
- Remove the ELD cam ring washer.
- Remove the ELD cam ring wavy washer.
- Remove the ELD cam ring.
