The CAC is composed of a heat exchanger and the tubing used to connect the output of the turbocharger to the intake of the engine. The CAC is designed to cool the induction air which has been heated by the turbocharger. As the heated air flows through the CAC, heat is transferred from the intake air entering the intake manifold to the air flowing over the outside of the CAC.
