Rear Brake Outer Flexible Hose: Removal

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
NOTE: If the fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Right hand (RH) and left hand (LH) outer brake hoses 

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Single Rear Wheels . Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Dual Rear Wheels .
  2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake hose. Discard the washers.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

    Right hand (RH) outer brake hose 

  3. NOTE: Typical rear brake RH outer flexible hose shown in illustration.

    1. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness retainer.
    2. Detach the brake tube from the retainers.
    3. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    4. Disconnect the brake tube fitting and remove the RH brake outer flexible hose.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    Left hand (LH) outer brake hose 

  4. NOTE: Typical rear brake LH outer flexible hose shown in illustration.

    1. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness retainer.
    2. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    3. Disconnect the brake tube fitting and remove the LH brake outer flexible hose.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
