Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler: Removal

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover retainers and then remove the engine appearance cover.

  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, VACUUM FILLING AND BLEEDING :
    1. Remove the EGR cooler mounting bolts.
    2. Remove the EGR cooler tube nuts and studs, position aside the EGR cooler tube and discard the gasket.
    3. Disconnect the quick release coupling and position aside the EGR cooler outlet hose.

    1. Remove the EGR cooler tube nuts and studs.
    2. Remove the EGR cooler mounting bolts.

  5. Remove and discard the EGR cooler O-rings and gasket.
