Pinpoint Test Y : DTC P0868

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The TCM monitors clutch applications for all gears. It sets a DTC for low transmission fluid pressure if multiple clutches do not properly apply.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    TCM P0868:00 Transmission Fluid Pressure Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a non-electrical fault causing 2 or more clutches to fail to apply. The TCM understands this as most likely caused by low line pressure.

    Possible Sources 

    • Transmission fluid contamination
    • Low line pressure

  2. Y1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC from the TCM.

    • Road test the vehicle.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all TCM continuous memory diagnostic trouble codes (CMDTCs).

    Is DTC P0735 present in the TCM? 

    Yes  Check the transmission fluid for contamination. REFER to: Preliminary Inspection . Carry out the line pressure test. REFER to: Special Testing Procedures .
    No  The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
