Reductant Pump and Heater Assembly: Installation

  1. Install a new reductant pump and heater assembly seal. Use Special Service Tool: 310-123 Locking Ring, Fuel Tank.

  2. Make sure that the reductant heater is properly retained and secured by the locating tabs.

  3. NOTE: During installation of the reductant pump and heater assembly, assure that the reductant heater legs are properly located inside the reductant tank and that they do not get trapped under the reductant pump and heater assembly. Failure to do so may cause a reductant system leak.

    Install the reductant pump and heater assembly into the reductant tank locating the locator tab as noted during removal.

  4. Using the Fuel Tank Locking Ring wrench, install the reductant pump and heater assembly lock ring. Use Special Service Tool: 310-123 Locking Ring, Fuel Tank.

  5. Connect the reductant pump and heater assembly electrical connector.

  6. Install the reductant tank shield and fasteners.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  7. Install the reductant tank. Refer to: Reductant Tank .
  8. NOTE: Always refill the reductant tank with new reductant fluid to avoid reductant system contamination.

    Fill the reductant tank with new reductant fluid.
