Crankcase Vent Oil Separator: Removal

  1. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
    NOTE: The CCV Hose must be replaced whenever the Oil Separator is replaced. There is no need to disconnect the CCV Hose from the Oil Separator.
    NOTE: To avoid damaging the Air Induction System (AIS) clean air duct, carefully break the CCV Hose quick connect retaining tabs with long nose pliers or a screwdriver as needed to remove the CCV Hose from the AIS Clean Air Duct.
    NOTE: The outer shell of the quick connect coupling must be broken in the indicated position.
  2. Using a screwdriver, separate, break and remove the outer shell of the CCV quick connect fitting at the indicated position.

  3. NOTE: The CCV quick connect fitting requires releasing of the spring lock tabs to be disconnected from the air cleaner outlet pipe.
    NOTE: CCV quick connect shown in disconnected state for clarity.

    Disengage the metal spring lock retainer by releasing the spring arms, then disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube from the air cleaner outlet pipe.
