Coolant Pump: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the mechanical cooling fan. Refer to: Cooling Fan .
  3. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.

  4. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and position aside the accessory drive belt.

  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

  6. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.

  7. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  8. Clean and inspect the O-ring seal surface for debris or damage.
