Valve Train Analysis - Engine Off, Valve Cover Removed

  1. Remove the valve covers. REFER to: Valve Cover LH . and the REFER to: Valve Cover RH .
  2. Check for damaged or severely worn parts and correct assembly. Make sure correct parts are used with the static engine analysis as follows.

    • Check for plugged oil drain back holes.
    • Check for worn or damaged valve tips.
    • Check for damaged rocker arm assemblies.
    • Check for worn or damaged camshafts.

  3. Install the valve covers. REFER to: Valve Cover LH . and the REFER to: Valve Cover RH .
