Engine Mount RH: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.
- Remove the nuts and the hood.

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
- Release the clip.
- Detach and position the hood shock aside.
- Remove the retainers and the radiator top shield.

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the bolts and the skid plate.
- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT .
- Detach the heater hose retainers.
- Remove the RH exhaust manifold nut.
- Install the special tool, the exhaust manifold nut and a length of chain. Use Special Service Tool: 303-D099 (D94T-6000-C) Lifting Bracket, Engine.

- Install Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.
- Attach the chain installed in the previous step to the hook on the special tool.
- Remove the following items:
- Refer to: Starter Motor .
- If equipped. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .

NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts, stud bolts or damage to the engine mount can occur.
Remove and discard the RH engine mount nuts and studs.
- Remove the exhaust Y-pipe dual catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe bolts and separate.
- Clean and inspect the mating surfaces.

NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.
Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.
Remove and discard the LH engine mount through bolt.
- Using the special tool, raise the RH side of the engine 50 mm (2 in). Use Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.
- Remove and discard the RH engine mount bracket-to-engine bolts.
- Remove the RH engine mount and bracket as an assembly.
- Clean the engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block and engine mount-to-frame mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
