Throttle Body: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When removing any turbocharger air intake system components, make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. All components need to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation or reassembly.
NOTE: During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
    1. Disconnect the quick release coupling. Refer to Quick Release Coupling
    2. Loosen the Throttle Body (TB) inlet pipe clamp and then disconnect the Throttle Body (TB) inlet pipe.

  2. NOTE: When disconnecting the Throttle Body (TB) electrical connector disengage the red locking tab on the Throttle Body (TB) electrical connector by sliding it to the rear of the Throttle Body (TB) electrical connector, away from the Throttle Body (TB). Squeeze the Throttle Body (TB) electrical connector while removing.

    Disconnect the Throttle Body (TB) electrical connector.

  3. Remove the Throttle Body (TB) bolts and then remove the Throttle Body (TB).

  4. Clean, inspect, and cover all of the open ports.
