Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

All Vehicles 

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud .
  3. Release the clamps and disconnect the upper radiator hose and the coolant hose.

  4. Pull the lower radiator hose spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and disconnect the lower radiator hose.

    Vehicles with an Auxiliary Transmission Cooler 

  5. Remove the transmission cooler line bracket retainer.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  6. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille - Raptor .
  7. Support the transmission fluid cooler and remove the retainers.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  8. Remove the pin-type retainers.

  9. Remove the radiator retainers and tilt cooling module backwards.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  10. Remove the condenser retainers.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  11. Release the tab and position the condenser upward to separate the condenser from the radiator.

  12. Remove the radiator.

    Vehicles without an Auxiliary Transmission Cooler 

  13. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille - Raptor .
  14. Remove the pin-type retainers.

  15. Remove the radiator retainers and tilt cooling module backwards.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  16. Remove the condenser retainers.
