Oil Cooler: Installation

  1. NOTE: Make sure the oil cooler-to-oil filter adapter is aligned.

    Install the oil cooler and the retainer.

    Torque: Stage 1: 43 lb.ft (58 Nm) | Stage 2: 9°

    1. Using the hose clamp installer, install the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    2. Remove the hose locking pliers. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers

  2. Connect the block heater cord.

  3. NOTE: Do not lubricate the engine oil filter gasket.

    Install a new engine oil filter.

    Torque: Stage 1: 44 lb.in (5 Nm) | Stage 2: 180°

  4. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe LH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
  5. Slide the engine appearance cover into the retaining bracket and install the retainers.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  6. Inspect and adjust the coolant level in the degas bottle.

    Material: Motorcraft® Yellow Prediluted Antifreeze/Coolant / VC-13DL-G (WSS-M97B57-A2)

  7. Inspect and adjust the engine oil level.

    Material: Engine Oil - SAE 5W-30 - Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-Q1SP (WSS-M2C946-B1)
