Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Installation

Both sides 

  1. Inspect the ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any damaged ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any of the ignition coil-on-plug seals or rubber boots with cracks, rips or tears.

    • NOTE: Apply light coat of Motorcraft WSB-M1C239-A Electrical Grease on inside of boot prior to assembly.
      NOTE: Engine boot slides on to plug end, check boot has not folded or misaligned.

      Install the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    • Install and tighten the ignition coil-on-plug bolts.

      Torque:Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) | Stage 2: 50 deg.

  2. Connect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

    Right side 

  3. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to: Upper Intake Manifold .
