Engine Mount RH: Removal

4x2/4x4 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

   Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

3. Remove the nuts and the hood.

   1. Release the clip.
   2. Detach and position the hood shock aside.

5. Release the coolant hose retainers from the intake manifold and position aside.

6. Install the engine support on the RH engine lift eye only. Install Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.

7. If equipped, remove the bolts and the transmission housing cover.

8. NOTE: Vehicles come with an underbody shield or a skid plate.

   If equipped, remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

10. Remove the front driveshaft. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .

11. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove the exhaust Y-pipe dual catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe bolts and separate.

12. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove and discard the LH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

    Remove and discard the RH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

14. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

    Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

15. Remove the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
16. Remove the bolts, position and support the A/C compressor aside.

17. Remove the starter. Refer to: Starter Motor .
18. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the RH engine mount through bolt.

19. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

20. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts, studs or damage to the engine mount can occur.
    • Remove and discard the RH engine mount nuts.
    • Remove the RH engine mount studs.

21. Using the engine support bar, raise the engine approximately 30 mm (1.18 in). Use Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.

22. Remove the RH engine mount.
