Selector Shaft Seal: Installation

- Install a new selector shaft seal on the special tool. Use Special Service Tool: 307-559 Installer, Shifter Fluid Seal.
- Using the special tool, install the selector shaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 307-559 Installer, Shifter Fluid Seal.

NOTE: Push on the park pawl to position the park pawl actuator rod in place.
Install the manual valve detent lever and park pawl actuator rod as an assembly.
- Position the selector lever spacer in place.
- Slide the selector lever shaft into the case and line up the roll pin hole.
- Install the new roll pin.

- While holding the park rod down, install the park rod actuating plate and bolts.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Install the main control valve body. Refer to: Main Control Valve Body .

NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the selector lever and the selector lever cable bracket.
Connect the selector lever cable onto the manual control lever and move the locking tab down.
- Listen for the audible click, then push back on the locking tab to verify it is locked.
- Pull back on the selector lever cable to verify it is installed correctly to the manual lever.
- If equipped, install the selector lever cable splash shield and the nut.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Install the splash shield and the retainers.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
